From the Director
Remembering Dr. Norman Borlaug
Dr. Borlaug’s work was an excellent example of the land grant mission. He understood the value and need for relevant, applied research, and focused on using that information to assist all of humankind through the training of students and agricultural specialists — especially in the developing world. We all should reflect on what one person can accomplish in this world. Our agency expresses our sincere condolences to the family. We also are excited about our current efforts in collaboration with the family to organize, archive, and showcase Dr. Borlaug’s accomplishments through his writings, books, photographs, and awards. We believe these exhibits will provide an example to students, faculty, and the public as to how we can and should focus our efforts on serving our fellow humanity.
