Texas Agricultural Research Database
Launched January 1, 2002, the Texas Agricultural Research Database (TARD) is an online, searchable database that contains information on agricultural research in the State of Texas. Established by the 77th Texas Legislature in 2001, the purpose of the Texas Agricultural Research Database is to enhance communication about agricultural research in the State of Texas from research facilities to interested members of other research institutions, private industry, and the general public. TARD publicizes all research relevant to the field of agriculture, including research in life science, biological science, engineering, water resources, forestry, food science, nutrition, textiles, fashion design (related to natural fibers), and any other area that relates to the field of agriculture. A substantial quantity of research project documentation captured within TARD is USDA sponsored, and has met federal approval through the Current Research Information System (CRIS). CRIS is a part of Information Systems and Technology Management, Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES).
The TARD website is maintained for the Texas Department of Agriculture by the Department of Agricultural Education and Communications and the Center for Agricultural Technology Transfer (CATT) at Texas Tech University.
